crisis (ha) – Keystone pipeline speech (Obama) in Okla / a sham since this part of pipeline did NOT need Presidential approval (already in the works) – Shamus the Romeny’s dog tale told over and over – President Obama claiming no ‘silver bullet’ per oil prices – with ZERO mention of Dodd -Frank mandate on speculators/ which Wall Street if fighting tooth and nail -the continual insanity of Campaign Groundhog Day antics with the Media – Super Pacs – Millionaires/Billionaires determining not only the candidate but ho-hum (hello – DIEBOLD – corporate owned voting machines/ they write programs and COUNT the votes / see corruption in Iowa caucus – Maine – Nevada just in campaign)………….NOT one media outlet – Right , Left or Independent has bothered to tell the TRUTH on this GAS debacle. Energy Sec Chu says he doesn’t drive ………duh, but his wife does (BMW) also Energy Dept has fleet of limos. Washington, UNLIKE (duh) Okla – NH – VT – Kansas etc, has transportation for folks.

I feel like if more people knew about the Enron Loophole, there would be a march on Congress. I made it a central issue in the book I just wrote and tried very hard to explain it simply in layman’s terms.

My understanding is that the Enron Loophole made it possible to take oil futures trading off the NYMEX and onto totally dark, private markets like the ICE. The absence of government regulation on the ICE meant the large oil companies could trade any way they wanted without the larger world having a clue about what was going on. While the ICE is now somewhat regulated, the Enron loophole has still not been fully closed, which allows for excessive speculation. . . which in turn drives up prices.
